Tips for installing Shade Sail s

When going for an overnight trip or a whole day outing to a park, one needs a tent like structure if he doesn't want to be sunburned. Here are some tips for safe installation of the Shade Sails

Shade Sails are basically used for keeping cool or for sheltering from the sun when outdoor. The shade sails may be of different dimensions and can be mounted in many different ways. One way is horizontal i.e. all the corners are at the same level. Although not common, they can also be mounted vertically like a fence. This can be done while playing paintball fight. The traditional horizontal sails are not very exciting to look at. The vertically mounted Shade Sails can be blown in case of very strong wind due to the immense pressure and due to the air resistance. To get the best of both, the Shade Sails are set at an angle of 18 degrees to the ground will be ideal to allow the flow of breeze and will also look fashionable.

The setting of 18 degrees also gives the poles set 10 feet apart a rise ratio of 3.25 feet per 10 feet to the Shade Sails. This means if the opposite poles are 10 feet tall, then the other set of opposite poles will have to be 13.25 feet to achieve the 18 degree angle. Before starting the installation of the Shade Sails, one should check with the local authority for any building regulations.

There are many determining factor that help in the easy and efficient setting up of the Shade Sails. They are gives below:

  1. Strength of the anchor points at the point of installation;

  2. Size of the Shade Sails;

  3. Wind speed and its direction;

  4. Location of the barbecue;

  5. Time of the Day for the sun angle;

  6. Terrain;

There also may be other things to consider depending upon the location. If on a slope, then the height of the two poles will have to be calculated according to the angle of the slope to attain the approximate angle of 18 degrees.

Note: barbecue or anything involving a fire should not be preparing under the Shade Sails.

Once the location of the installation has been chosen, then the best way of installation should be chosen. Shade Sails with tension always looks better than a hanging one without much tension whatever. Between the corner of the sail and the point of fixing, there must be at least 10 percent of the Shade Sails length. This space allows for the installation equipment like hooks to stretch sufficiently and also provide tension to the Shade Sails. For instance, if the sail is 100 inches long, then there should be at least 10 inches of space for the equipment and other stuff. If there are preexisting structures like broad trees or posts, then one can attach the mounting equipment to them.
